Additional 45-day Compliance Period for Executive Order 13936 – Hong Kong Normalization

As previously reported, CBP issued guidance on the new country of origin marking rules for goods produced in Hong Kong. Originally scheduled for compliance as of September 25^th, CBP has issued further guidance granting an additional 45- day compliance period to the Executive Order 13936 through November 9, 2020 to provide importers more time to comply with the Executive Order. CBP has instructed their field offices to not take any enforcement actions on goods produced in Hong Kong during this period.
