Presidential Proclamation on Section 232 Imports of Steel and Aluminum Finished Products Additional Tariffs

President Trump’s proclamation on adjusting imports of derivative Aluminum and Steel articles was published January 24, 2020. The proclamation states that with certain exceptions, all imports of derivative aluminum articles will be subject to an additional 10% rate of duty and all imports of derivative steel articles will be subject to an additional 25% rate of duty effective February 8, 2020. Countries exempt from this proclamation on Aluminum derivatives are Argentina, Australia, Canada and Mexico. For Steel derivatives, countries exempt are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and South Korea. Articles affected are listed here.
