U.S. Trade Representative – Exclusions on List 4A China 301 Tariffs & Extension on List 1 Products

The U.S. Trade Representative just published in the Federal Register the following:

Section 301, List 4A, 9903.88.44

A new list of exclusions from the Section 301 Chinese tariffs. These exclusions are retroactive to September 1, 2019 and extend to September 1, 2020.

Section 301, List 1, 9903.88.06

Federal Register Notice to extend for 12 months on certain products from China. Originally, this list was retroactive to March 25, 2019 and was set to expire on March 25, 2020 however, an extension of one additional year through March 25, 2021.

Please review the lists to see if your imports are affected. Importers are responsible for determining whether or not their product(s) meet the specific description next to the HTS – Harmonized Tariff Schedule – number. If your imported goods qualify for the exclusion and you wish to discuss a strategy for requesting retroactive refunds, please contact your local C J representative.
