U.S. Trade Representative Publishes Five Exclusion List to China 301 Tariffs

Over the past 10 days, the U.S. Trade Representative published in the Federal Register the following lists of exclusions from the Section 301 Chinese tariffs. These exclusions were granted not only in response to specific product exclusion requests but to include certain medically necessary products to help in the fight against COVID-19. The Federal Register notices are provided to you below.

Please review the attached lists provided to see if your imports are affected. Importers are responsible for determining whether or not their product(s) meet the specific description next to the HTS – Harmonized Tariff Schedule – number. If your imported goods qualify for the exclusion and you wish to discuss a strategy for requesting retroactive refunds, please contact your local C J representative.

List 4A: Effective for goods entered on September 1, 2019, the following 8 exclusions from the additional Chinese tariffs will be effective retroactive to that date and extend for one year to September 1, 2020.
