U.S. Trade Representative Publishes Five Exclusion List to China 301 Tariffs
Over the past 10 days, the U.S. Trade Representative published in the Federal Register the following lists of exclusions from the Section 301 Chinese tariffs. These exclusions were granted not only in response to specific product exclusion requests but to include certain medically necessary products to help in the fight against COVID-19. The Federal Register notices are provided to you below.
Please review the attached lists provided to see if your imports are affected. Importers are responsible for determining whether or not their product(s) meet the specific description next to the HTS – Harmonized Tariff Schedule – number. If your imported goods qualify for the exclusion and you wish to discuss a strategy for requesting retroactive refunds, please contact your local C J representative.
List 4A: Effective for goods entered on September 1, 2019, the following 8 exclusions from the additional Chinese tariffs will be effective retroactive to that date and extend for one year to September 1, 2020.
Effective for goods entered on September 24, 2019, the following list of 47 product exclusions until August 7, 2020
List 3: Effective for goods entered on September 24, 2018, the following list of five product exclusions until August 7, 2020.
List 4A – second list effective for goods entered on September 1, 2019, the following list of 19 product exclusions until September 1, 2020
March 26, 2020 FR Notice. List 3 – second list of exclusions announced in this notice will be retroactive to September 24, 2018 to August 7, 2020.
